The Dublin-based company, run by brothers Dermot, Luke and Colm Downer, has doubled in size over the past three years and is hoping to expand further with the investment in a new press.
The Lithrone 29, which was sold by Komori's Irish distributor Portman Graphic, has a high-speed makeready function of 12,000sph and a maximum printing speed of 16,000sph. Job-to-job changeover times are reduced because of the automatic wash-up of the blanket and impression cylinders and inking rollers.
Dermot Downer said: "We needed to add more print capacity and this new Komori press effectively adds 30% more production capability to our factory."
Alongside the Komori press, Westside has added a Tharstern MIS system, which allows customers to track their jobs online at any time.
"It gives more control to customers who like the ability to check on their job status whenever they wish," Luke Downer said.
Westside has 40 staff and operates around the clock, six days a week.
It handles a wide range of jobs including stationery, labels, brochures, books, annual reports, magazines and B2 posters.
