The new machine has replaced a 30-year-old guillotine that the company said was at an age where getting spare parts was becoming increasingly difficult, even to the point that parts were being made specifically for it.
Design and print operations manager Gary Ives said: "It was fine, it met all of our health and safety needs. But we produce individual prospectuses now and we can get 1,000 coming in at a time that need turning around in 24 hours.
"We had invested in a digital print facility and in software, but the finishing area had become critical. We just needed a machine that was faster and cleaner."
The HPM-Prism guillotine is designed by Consensus and built using components from European manufacturers
in China.
