Sun Chemical targets digital inkjet market with launches

Ink giant Sun Chemical has targeted the digital inkjet market with the launch of the Streamline Zero and Streamline Duo ranges.

Streamline Zero is a water-based ink range that uses a significantly reduced amount of solvent when compared to solvent-based ink, according to the company.

It is said to enable printers to work in a low emissions environment and improve their environmental credentials.

Tony Cox, business manager for digital aftermarket at Sun Chemical, said: "Streamline Zero has a reduced amount of volatile organic compounds that means there are reduced emissions which benefit the environment."

He added that the range had excellent adhesion to a very wide range of media, including Tyvek, canvas, tissue and polyolefins.

Streamline Duo is a solvent-based range of digital inkjet inks and is the first ink range in the company's Streamline family to be developed for use in superwide printers using a range of Xaar and Spectra printheads.

The range is formulated to meet the stringent demands of the latest superwide-format printing equipment and combine high quality, bright strong colours with excellent reliability.

The price of both products depends on the order, according to Cox.

Sun Chemical will launch the products at Fespa Digital 2011, held in Hamburg between 24-27 May.
