M Palani, the owner of the firm said: "We are leveraging opportunities in remote areas. We are going where no other printer has gone, taking print services to the doorsteps of our customers."
Established in 1993 as a commercial printer with headquarter in the holy pilgrimage town of Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu; Subam has three digital print shops in Thiruvannamalai, Vellore and Villupuram, each having a Xerox Docucolor 5252 besides an offset unit in Chengam.
Previously print agents in Puducherry sourced jobs from end customers and travel to printers in Chennai, a distance of 125 to 150 kms, to get the prints.
"Now it’s available locally and right in the customer’s hands. These print shops have given us volumes from zero to 25000 per month. We are averaging one-lakh print runs every month from the four centres combined," confirmed Palani.
Subam entered the digital print arena three years ago after volumes in offset came down and since then has added a digital press every year. "DC 5000AP is the fourth Xerox machine after three DC 5252’s in a row," said Palani.
"We have been catering to short-run jobs like business cards, invitees, marriage cards and the like. Our average growth has been a healthy 40% to 50% in the last three years and going ahead, we plan to launch few more regional centres," boasted Palani.
