The 30m per minute station works in conjunction with the manufacturer's Digital Galaxie label converting system. Offering a maximum print width of 340mm, the station is being targeted at converters printing short-run labels.
According to the company, flatbed screens offers a raft of benefits over rotary screens in that they can be prepared at a quicker rate and more competitive cost.
Smag Graphique also claims flatbed screen printing provides greater ink density, opacity and higher definition.
Stéphane Rateau, general manager of Smag Graphique, said: "This high-speed flatbed screen printer enables label converters to deliver the advantages of screen printing including opacity, chemical resistance, and tactile effects more easily and cost-effectively than ever before."
Smad will also be showcasing its new range of I-Cut systems at the show. The I-Cut 330, which forms part of the entry-level finishing and converting series for digital label converters, offers a 330mm width and output speeds of up to 40m per minute.
The company said the new unit complements the existing I-cut 250, an established model that offers a 250mm width with speeds up to 15m per minute.
Smag Graphique will be exhibiting at Labelexpo Europe that takes place from 28 September - 1 October at the Brussels Expo, Belgium.
