The company will take delivery of the superwide 5m UV roll-to-roll printer, which will be on the Durst stand (11/F220) throughout Ipex, at the end of the month.
Nick Cole, managing director of Service Graphics, said that he plumped for the Rho 500R due to its quality, speed and environmental credentials.
"We have aggressive growth plans to double capacity and this is step one of that strategy. We're already talking to existing customers about the new machine and we're expecting it to drive new business," said Cole.
He added that the company has a number of plans in the pipeline, to "widen the gap between us and the rest of the market, which will be announced in due course".
Launched at Fespa last year there are currently 25 Rho 500R's installed across Europe. The machine can print 600dpi at a top speed of 400m2 per hour and is suitable for a wide range of wide-format display items, including textile banners or selfadhesive polyester film for backlit application.
The 5m-wide machine also boasts a multiroll printing option, which means it can print a 5m-wide sheet, two rolls of 2.5m or three 160cm rolls simultaneously.
Durst's European sales manager Hans Klarenbeek explained: "The multi-roll function means that you can have three 160cm rolls and each roll can be printing a different job. You can also change jobs while the press is running."
