The 5m-wide UV-cured roll-to-roll machine was chosen for its image quality and environmental credentials by the company, which has found its market changing in the past couple of years.
"Over the last few years the company has been moving more towards indoor retail displays as opposed to outdoor advertising," said group sales manager Jürgen Marzi. "For retail work it is vital that you have the highest quality of print and the Durst is able to supply that with the level of productivity that now makes digital a cost-effective process."
The Rho 500R is the company's fourth Durst, joining two Rho 320R roll-to-roll machines and one Rho 700 flatbed machine. All have been installed in a just over a year.
All bar one of the Dursts, a Rho 320R which is at the company's Berlin factory, are in Vienna. It also has a production site in Poland.
The Vienna site serves clients in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in addition to Austria and Germany.
