Why did you get into printing?
It all started at school when printing cards for CB users, known as ‘eyeball’ cards. That became a full-time job… it’s just a shame the English, maths and physics highers all suffered
What would be your dream job?
Team boss for Valentino Rossi, who finally saw sense and now rides in the Moto GP for Ducati
What is your dream bit of kit?
That’s easy: a crystal ball. It would help pull briefs from clients better and allow us to plan for the future with a higher degree of confidence. Either that or my iPad
What is your favourite film?
Difficult one. Probably Battle of Britain – it harks back to my previous life before print in the Royal Air Force
What is your favourite TV programme?
The X Factor. It’s an example of marketing perfection, where the general public just can’t see that everything is orchestrated – there is no real scandal or drama. With millions applying, do people honestly think Wagner was really among the best?
What is your greatest luxury in life?
My Ducati Desmosedici RR – as close as you’ll get to a real MotoGP bike on the road
What is the strangest job you’ve ever done?
We were once asked to print a wedding invitation with the wrong date on it so the happy couple could send it to a relative they didn’t like and blame the printer…
Who would you like to be stuck on a desert island with?
Need to be careful here, so we’ll keep it clean. Bill Clinton – you just know that man has a story to tell
What was the best business deal that you’ve pulled off?
To be honest, we’re working on that just now, so that’ll have to be our wee secret for a while
