Rohan Dewan, assistant editor, said: "The main reason for zeroing on the Komori was the size – (22 x 32inches). The consistency of colour and speed are the two main plus points with this new printing press."
Dewan Publications publishes one of the world’s highly circulated sports magazine, Cricket Samrat and a magazine for children, Nanhe Samrat.
Cricket Samrat is a perfect bound, 132 pages magazine with a circulation of one lakh, while Nanhe Samrat contains 84 pages and has a circulation figure of 50,000.
The family-run business is managed by Anand Dewan, the managing director and his son, Rohan. The editorial team has five persons.
The newly installed Lithrone S32 is equipped with KH-ASI software, which is designed to reduce waste. "The cost of production is increasing and the end-user is not comfortable to pay an increased price. Hence, our main focus is to reduce wastages, which in turn will help reduce the production cost and help us sustain," said Anand.
Besides its own magazine, Dewan also caters to works from publication houses, advertisement agencies, restaurants and children books publishers. The company now plans to do all kind of commercial jobs, book printing and paper bag printing.
"The circulation of the magazine is decreasing," said Rohan. "The new investment will enable us explore new avenues."
Besides the new kit, Dewan has a pre-owned five-colour Heidelberg SM 102F.
The printing facility operates from a 15,000 sq/ft site and the publication house employs around 25 persons.
