The Xerox 700 forms the centrepiece of a company-wide investment programme at Witham, Essex-based Printwize, which also includes an Autobond TP74 Thermal Laminator and FSC Chain of Custody certification.
According to Darren Booty, office manager at the 35-staff company, the press adds "several extra strings to our bow" enabling Printwize to offer a greater range of services.
He said: "We previously had a Xerox 240 on a lease agreement but having the quality of the 700 in-house means we can hopefully open up some new sales channels."
Printwize, which has a turnover of £3.2m, produces work for a range of clients such as publishing houses.
The Xerox 700 can output at speeds of up to 70ppm in both colour and mono production and on stock weights ranging from 64-300gsm.
In addition to achieving FSC Chain of Custody certification, the 40-year-old business has also recently installed an Autobond TP74 Laminator.
Booty said the Autobond investment would allow the company to cut the £6,000 it spent each month on lamination outsourcing costs.
"With these installations, we've broadened our capabilities and expanded the services we can offer. Recent years have been steady, but we've worked hard to get here, you have to be realistic," he added.
Printwize 'invests in future' with kit spend and eco accreditation
Printwize has "invested in the future" by improving its environmental credentials and bringing more work in-house with the purchase of its first digital colour press.
