Among the projects it undertook in the past 12 months was the packaging for the Tron special-edition DVD, which had a tight turnaround of two months from concept to delivery and a very short run of 1,000 units. AGI was up to the challenge, creating an innovative cube design using corrugated ‘N’ flute material to get a balance between durability and printability and also to tick the environmental box. The cube was assembled by hand and the company hopes that the project will inspire designers to think outside the box when it comes to thinking about materials that can be used. Other projects this year included packaging for the Family Guy Trilogy DVD, which incorporated silver board and sculpted embossing. The judges felt that AGI met and surpassed its clients’ expectations and that the Family Guy packaging showed a "clever use of embossing to achieve different depths".
