The presentation echoed original stained-glass design motifs with digital printed Folex Digiprint Clear in a CAD-cut window frame. Subtle lights sunk into foam housing added luminosity to the box and gave judges more reason to give print star billing: "The Queen’s building tender was an amazing product that achieved wow factor," said the judges. Meanwhile a job for Ascot Racecourse involved producing two coffee table books in a lavish presentation box. Only seven copies were required, but each had to reflect the prestige of the brand. The digitally printed box left judges amazed at "unbelievably high quality digital print".

Consistency of form and an uncanny knack for working around clients’ budgets and other limitations helped 1st Byte to a repeat of last year’s commendation. Projects included brochures to promote prestigious townhouses and a short-run pitch document printed on mirrored board for metallic-effect tabs and covers. This not only looked great, but was highly cost effective.
