1st Byte, however, was first among equals with projects such as ABP (China) Royal Albert Dock marketing collateral for Savills. The client wanted 25 copies each of two books, one in English and one in Chinese, with 10 of them produced within 48 hours. The result was truly bespoke, with the client particularly happy with the raised varnish finish throughout the book applied using its new Scodix. Only the best team can harness the best results and 1st Byte needed no second bite to taste victory this year.

Pureprint’s offering for the 17 Million Yards project was hailed by judges as “beautifully put together”. All the sections were printed in CMYK with 48 pages of text printed one side only. A foil block area was used on the front and back covers and on the spine, while a de-boss was used to mimic golf balls for the run of 400.

The Visions of China book shows how digital printing and well-chosen substrates can create something unique. The result, a stylish package introducing House of Fraser to the Chinese market, maybe unique but the quality is the company’s bread and butter. The Terminator box and invite also show how close last year’s winner was to this year’s top slot.
