The new Clone Wars titles are the culmination of two year's development between personalised publisher Penwizard and Penguin, a partnership set to capitalise on the growing demand for bespoke printed books.
The books, which retail for £14.99 in the UK, are ordered from an online retailer before the file is transferred to the Prime Group for on-demand production.
Each title can be personalised by creating an avatar, choosing facial features along with hair style and colour to create a likeness. A name is included along with an optional personal message that is printed on the inside front page.
The book is then printed across the company's two 7000 series HP Indigo colour presses prior to finishing and fulfilment, all of which is carried out within a five-day timeframe.
Carol Roeder, director of publishing for Lucasfilm, said the personalised application of print was a "unique product" and one that immerses fans in the Star Wars universe.
Richard Adey, managing director at Penwizard, said the development of the platform recognised the growing popularity of web-to-print technology.
"While personalised books are still somewhat of a niche, web-to-print in the consumer marketplace is growing at a fantastic rate. Penwizard combines both of these," he added.
