The digital colour label printer is being pitched at companies demanding label printing on-demand and in-house. The VP485e, which replaces a previous VP2020 model, is being mooted as a mid-range machine that can produce shelf labels and personalised print among other work.
It can print on widths from 51mm up to 215m and at speeds of more than 101mm a second. The VP485e is also compatible with Vivera inks from HP, which are claimed to provide a higher resistance to UV-induced fade.
Jules Farkas, European reseller director at KTEC Group, said there is an enormous market potential for on-demand label printers.
Farkas added: Companies can print their own labels inexpensively and when needed. The system is competitively priced and high quality, full colour labels can be produced to endorse brands and increase eye appeal as well as identify or track stock with a very fast return on the initial investment.
KTEC managing director Robert Knox, said the Packtech show provided perfect timing for the Redditch based company to launch the VP485e into the UK market. Both KTEC Group and VIPColor Technologies will exhibit at Packtech 2009 on stand 682.
