The new label press, for which Poole-based Intec Printing Solutions is the sole UK distributor, features a front panel LCD interface, a rewinder system and integrated label making software.
RIP included in the software enables colour management, ICC profinling and Pantone spot colours.
Printing 9.1metres per minute the Edge 850 prints at 1,200 x 600 dpi on conventional kiss-cut or die-cut rolls up to 213.4m in length and widths from 152.4mm to 216mm.
Intec Printing Solutions managing director Ian Melville said: "This new short run label printer is ideal for those wishing to print small quantities of their own labels and complements the existing range of Intec on demand printers."
Melville described the system as a versatile and cost effective solution for low to medium volume users, particularly those in food and consumer product labelling.
iSys president Mark Hopkins added: "Traditionally if you wanted 1,000 labels you’d have to commit to a much larger number to make it worthwhile for the printer to do the job. Plus you’d typically have to wait two weeks before you could have them. Now customers can print their own labels quickly and efficiently."
