The machine will feature an EskoArtwork digital front end, printing a range of labels on a raft of textured substrates for items such as wine, cosmetics and chocolates.
Finished labels will be produced live at the show on a GM DC330 Mini converting line.
Epson announced at last year's Ipex that it was set to commercialise its digital label press after a favourable response with beta machines shipped later that year.
The first European install went into France in January 2011 but Epson would not be drawn on any UK installations to date.
The six-colour narrow web press uses the same type of micro piezo inkjet head as Epson's established large-format machines, together with a new ink developed to print directly onto paper or synthetic substrates without the need for pre-treatment or special coatings. It can handle web widths of between 80-330mm.
An array of 25.4mm printheads image a ‘frame' of up to 914x330mm at a time, giving an average print speed of five linear metres per minute.
Epson is also using Labelexpo to showcase its Stylus Pro WT7900 inkjet printer though partners such as EFI, GMG, and Isi Graphics Systems.
The L-4033A will be on show at Epson's booth number 9H50 in Hall 9 at the Brussels-based event, which takes place from 28 September-1 October.
