Marketing director Bob Ide said that demand has increased for the substrate from 4.6m tonnes in 1995 to 8m tonnes in 2008.
The range is available as A-ok Gloss or A-ok Silk, and it is manufactured by Gold East Paper in China.
Ide said: "This is the first time we have linked with a Chinese mill and we have done so only after a thorough audit of its financial health, environmental credentials and quality of management and product."
The merchant will carry a full stock range of the brand and sheets are available in SRA2 to 720x1020mm, and from 100gsm to 300gsm weights. It can be used for posters, flyers, folders, calendars and catalogues.
New woodfree coated boards from PaperCo
PaperCo has launched A-ok, a PEFC-certified mid-range coated stock, which the merchant said responds to increasing European demand for coated woodfree paper.
