Nagpur's Shakti eyes stationery niche in Central India

Shakti Press, the Nagpur-based printing company has geared up to cater to the stationery business in Central India.

For the stationery business, the company has invested in Line O Matic machines and Muller Martini’s thread book sewing machine, InventaPlus.

Raghav Sharma managing director at Shakti Press, said: "We have expanded our printing business from beedi labels to stationery. We have invested in five acres of land and in the equipment. Our aim is to establish ourself as a leading stationery brand in Central India." The company manufactures notebook and diaries.

In 2000, Shakti Press had installed Asia’s first Heidelberg CD102 LYLX with coater, interdeck drying with extended delivery which is used for label printing.

According to the company, the beedi label printing business is growing.Deepak Dhote, joint managing director at Shakti Press, said: "We print beedi labels and wrappers which has grown over a period of two years."

Shakti Press which has 90 employees has invested in a new packaging unit on an eight acre plot.
