The KBA press is being supplied by Indo Polygraph Machinery, the representative for KBA sheetfed presses in India.
The KBA Rapida 66 will join Almat’s existing press setup which consists of Ryobi.
Asgar Kothawala, chairman at ABS, said: "We were looking at a press with a smaller size and KBA Rapida 66 fulfilled our requirement. The Rapida 66 has the capacity to run the duplex board of different gsm. No doubt, the Ryobi has sturdy design and technology but the size was a limitation."
Besides ordering a KBA Rapida 66, Almats Branding Solutions has also invested in one lakh sq/ft area in the Print World, the cluster for printing industry in Bhiwandi near Mumbai and complete post-press setup.
Kothawala, said: "Keeping the future expansion in the mind, we decided to book one lakh sq/ft area in the Print World, which is a cluster for printing industry in Bhiwandi near Mumbai."
Kothawala, added: "Earlier we were outsourcing the post-printing finishing jobs, but we found that either the jobs got delayed or badly finished. This affected us a lot and therefore we decided to have in-house post-press facility."
The company has boosted its operation with the investment in two Basysprint CTCPs and one Kodak CTP in pre-press, Ryobi 924 in press, automatic folding machine, perfect binding machine, thread sewing machine, wire-stitching machine and a new Perfecta 115 TS cutting machine in post-press.
The company has also invested in the large-format printers like Mutto, Roland and HP to cater the digital signage requirements.
