Navin Savla, director at Hari Om Prints, said: "We saw the Sakurai press running during Drupa 2008 and were impressed with its performance."
Savla added: "We have also revamped our post-press department by adding equipment from Welbound, Morgana and Fortec. By bringing post-press in-house, we have increased our productivity. It has made it lot easier for us to deliver the jobs in time."
Hari Om Prints runs the Sakurai press under its sister concern Selection Scan De Print (SSDP) and knocks short-run jobs which are as low as 25 and print size of up to 30x40in.
Savla said: "We don't turn away these customers just because they have small print-run requirements."
Besides the Sakurai Oliver press, the firm has a Heidelberg SM 72 four-colour press and a Hashimotto two-colour press. The Cobalt C8 violet CTP fires plates for these presses.
Hari Om Prints and SSDP caters to variety of jobs such as posters, calendars, files-folders, invitation cards, menu cards, brochures, booklet, point-of-purchase, danglers, for corporates in the telecom and automobile industries.
The Sakurai Oliver 664SD has been sold and serviced by Chennai-based Proteck Machinery, the Indian representative for Sakurai offset presses in India.
Kamal Vyas, general manager, Proteck Machinery, said: "The press has also opened up new revenue streams for the printer, which can now produce long-run jobs."
