"It's part of our strategy to offer a complete solution," said Presstek Europe sales and operations director Ray Hillhouse.
"We don't want to supply a DI and then have the customer go to someone else for a digital press."
Presstek will sell the Konica Minolta bizHub Pro 6501 colour machine to provide a device for runs below 400; it is also promoting the use of KM's black and white presses for personalising longer run colour work produced on the Presstek DI.
"We know DI is the most-cost effective method above 400 copies. Below that it's blurred and DI offers higher quality and a better range of substrates," said Hillhouse.
He added the digital presses could be driven directly from Presstek's Momentum workflow and that colour management meant the bizhub Pro 6501 could provide a very good match to the DI's output.
