The firm expects to double its present annual turnover of Rs 2-crore in the next year following sustained growth in the last two years.
The 30-year old Kolkata-based firm, which began as a block maker, moved into lamination in 1984, and became a printer a decade later in 1995, specialises in commercial and book printing.
Running alongside the new Spica 29 are two used multi-colour - Heidelberg SM72s and a five-colour Akiyama - installed between 1998 and 2006. It mostly outsources all pre-press and post-press requirements.
"Advanced automation of the Spica 29 makes it possible to expand our business offerings and efficient deliveries to the market, which will be key to our achieving the target set," he added.
Insight Communication, which represents Komori in the North and East India, supplied the press and are also providing the service.
