The 6,000sph machine can cope with stocks up to 800gsm and can cut, crease, perforate, kiss-cut, cold emboss and produce Braille. Options for hot stamping plastic and hot foiling are also under development.
Kama chief executive Marcus Tralau said the ProCut 53, which costs about €160,000 (£125,000), met smaller printers' needs for flexible multi-purpose machines.
Tralau highlighted the machine's suitability for digital print, particularly short-run packaging: "For a run of 200 you wouldn't even start a Bobst or a Heidelberg."
The company has entered into a three-way partnership with Xerox and Stora Enso for the digital packaging market, under which Xerox is selling the ProCut 53 as the Gallop.
The ProCut 53 can be seen on Kama's stand (Hall 3/D31), while the Gallop is on display at Xerox (Hall 8b/A78) inline with an iGen3.
