Knowledge Centre
An information hub with a line-up of not-for-profit organisations. Alongside expert advice, a raft of seminars will be running on areas such as staff training, environmental policies and print buying. Organisations involved include: Two Sides, PEFC, FSC, the Direct Marketing Association, Fogra, the Welsh Centre for Printing and Coating, the LCC, APCOM, New York University and Leeds City College.
Printers’ Profit Zone
Content at the zone is based on extensive research through Ipex’s global printer network. The results found that the biggest issues facing the industry were: declining profits and predatory pricing; cash crisis; and strategy. The result is a number of free 30-minute seminars designed to tackle key business issues. The seminars have been organised in conjunction with Nick Devine (www.theprintcoach.com) and take place in Hall 9. For full details of the programme, visit www.ipex.org/ppz.
The Great Print Debate
Some of the industry’s big hitters will be debating the big issues. The debates take place every day and look at: how printers should sell print; electronic devices kill printed matter; green print; and the future of the industry. Visit www.ipex.org/greatprintdebates.
Guided Tours and Product Trails
In association with ProSkills, visitors can see their top Ipex targets in 90 minutes through the show’s Guided Tours offer. Categories include: pre-media/pre-press/digital; printing/output and ancillaries; post-press and finishing. Product trails can be found in the registration areas and cover: green print; design and creative; finishing; marketing; offset; digital and MIS; and software. Visit www.ipex.org/guidedtours.
CIP4 Automation Pavilion
This feature is designed to highlight advances in print automation and will be located in Hall 7/E460. The pavilion will show how systems from different vendors can be networked and integrated together.
