The DTG Digital M2 has been designed by Australian sister company Impression Technology Australia. The piezo inkjet device prints up to 610mm wide with a maximum resolution of 1,400dpi. It prints in white plus CMYK and incorporates a ‘unique’ interface to eliminate banding problems.
The printer operates with a range of platens that slide into place across the print width, allowing the M2 to print multiple garments simultaneously. Custom platens, for example for baby clothing and bibs, are also available.
The firm is gauging market reaction to the device at the show.
"It’s been designed from the ground up for textile applications and is the culmination of our engineering expertise in this area," said managing director Steve Richardson. "We can print with a droplet size of up to 50 picolitres so we can put maximum ink down at lower resolutions, which means we can double or quadruple the printing speed."
The M2 will ship in September, and is expected to cost under €35,000.
