Gopsons Papers cited the need for increasing capacity as the reason for choosing the Rapida 105, which complements the existing fleet of Rapida presses. "We needed more capacity in the 2/2, and we plan to utilise the press mostly for 2/2 perfecting jobs, and which can also print good quality jobs in 4/0 as well."
The new addition will increase the print volume by 100% especially for 2/2 work. The press has been netting 80-100,000 impression per shift per day. According to Aditya Surana, managing director of Indo Polygraph Machinery, dealer for KBA sheetfed presses in India, Rapida 105, a fully automatic press is loaded with central format setting and a high performance anti-static device from Kersten; blanket, roller and impression wash from Technotrans and Eltosch drying system since Gopsons uses coated papers as well.
Gopsons' other recent investments include a Norhaven, a Kolbus book and a Muller Martini inline hardcover production line.
