Pro-File, which will be debuted at the Fespa 2010 exhibition in Munich this June, will enable printers to comply with the Fogra 39 dataset or ISO 12647-2 using screen process presses or Fujifilm's Acuity flatbed printer range.
The Acuity's high-resolution, flatbed design and white ink capability enables it to reproduce the same dots as screen, onto the same stock, which the firm said made it possible to proof or produce short runs that matched screen print.
Pro-File is based on the following three components: Fujifilm Sericol screen and Uvistar digital inks, the Acuity printers and the ColorGate RIP.
In time, the company plans to extend support to any machine using Uvistar inks, including the Inca range.
Fogra 39 and ISO 12647-2, which are derived from sheetfed litho conditions, were chosen based on the adoption of litho to replace a lot of screen work and their adoption by print management companies as a standard across all media.
