According to the company, "near photographic" quality can be produced at a typical production speed of 40sqm per hour, while a new express mode suitable for work to be viewed at a greater distance can output at 65sqm per hour.
Like the rest of the Acuity range the HS is based on the same platform as Océ's Arizona, in this case Océ's Arizona 550 GT, which was launched a week ago.
Fujifilm Sericol will begin shipping the HS in March with a ColorGate RIP and its own Uvijet inks. Options include white ink and roll-to-roll media handling. It will be priced at around £160,000.
According to Fujifilm Sericol European marketing director Keith Harley, the company's heritage in screen print and with flatbed digital print, which it pioneered with the Inca machines in the early 2000s meant it was able to provide expert application support for rigid media work.
Harley added that the Acuity HS had rounded out the group's product line, filling a gap between the rest of the Acuity range and the Inca Spyder.
The HS will get its European show debut at Sign & Digital UK 2010 at the Birmingham NEC from 13-15 April, and will also be shown at Ipex in May, also at the NEC, and Fespa in June at the Münich Messe.
