Free Value Added Printing workshop scheduled for September

A new event focused on the business benefits of Value Added Printing (VAP) comes to London next month.

The one day workshop: PRINTplusX – The Secrets of Value Added Printing takes place on 9 September. It is targeted at brand owners, designers, publishers as well as printers and will explore the possibilities and advantages that value-added printing techniques deliver as part of an integrated marketing campaign.

The event, which takes place on 9 September, is being organised by the PrintCity Alliance and is supported by PrintWeek. Associate editor Jo Francis will moderate the workshop, which will include presentations and discussions as well as an interactive hands-on session. Similar events have already taken place on the continent.

PrintCity Alliance managing director Rainer Kuhn said that difficult market conditions made the role of VAP even more important: We believe that such techniques can help brand owners and printers differentiate, gain attention and grow business, so that they emerge from the current economic conditions even stronger.

The alliance has created a number of examples to show the optical, tactile and emotional differences between conventional and VAP products. It defines VAP as a product that is:

  • Visibly different to standard printing, or different in a way that is apparent to other senses, such as touch or smell
  • Recognised by consumers, advertisers and brand owners
  • Capable of attracting higher revenues and/or adds to differentiation.

To register online for the workshop visit www.printplusx.com/en/workshops/london or contact the organisers via email at contact@printplusx.org. The event is free to attend but places are limited so early booking is advised.
