Konica Minolta, which confirmed its North Print & Pack presence last month, has increased its stand size by 20% to 162sqm, allowing it to display the d-Flex digital inkjet system, which was first revealed at Drupa.
The new hybrid label press uses Konica Minolta Colourprint drop-on-demand heads from Industrial Inkjet, for inkjet printing of up to four colours plus white. It can be integrated with conventional flexo printing units and options, including UV varnish, die-cutting, lamination and cold foiling.
The machine, which is 4m long and 1.5 m wide, starts from £180,000.
David Lee, managing director at Focus, said three units had been sold since drupa and that the machine would be running live at North Print & Pack. "We’ve had a lot of good feedback so far," he said.
"We will be open to discussions on deals at the show. There will also be developments and improvements over the next 12 months and we can discuss that with people at the event."
Ian Monksfield, European sales at Industrial Inkjet, said the machine gave people more flexibility and there was definitely a market for that.
