There had been industry speculation that Konica, which was one of the largest exhibitors at the event’s last iteration in 2011, would not be at the show in 2013, but this latest announcement represents another vote of confidence for the relaunched event, following Ricoh confirming its presence earlier in the month.
"We had a very compelling story, we’re going to be attracting the kind of audience they want to target, CRDs, educational and local authority inplants, packaging and of course commercial printers. So where better to be, it confirms their commitment to the show and to their customers," said North Print & Pack sales manager Mary Buck.
Konica will be taking the same footprint in 2013, 135sqm, that it did at Northprint in 2011, which will make it the second biggest exhibitor after Ricoh at this year’s show.
Buck added that the show has also secured two additional first time exhibitors, compact media specialist Alpha Card and thermal flexo imagesetter specialist Exile Technologies.
As well as confirming its commitment to North Print & Pack, Konica, which is also set to be the largest exhibitor at Ipex 2014, has also signed up to a third Informa show, Cross Media 2013.
Konica Minolta director of direct sales James Goody said: "We are committed to supporting the UK printing and media industry, and… place real value on these trade shows, as they allow visitors to see how companies such as Konica Minolta, are working hard to enable businesses to remain effective, and benefit from the real potential of digital technologies, and how it can complement traditional offset."
North Print & Pack runs from 14 to 16 May at the Harrogate International Centre.
