The large-format and specialist imaging event will be co-located with commercial print show Graphic Arts of the Americas (GOA) in Orlando, Florida and will run for three days between the 24-26 February.
Fespa is in the final stages of negotiation with GOA organiser the Printing Association of Florida (PAF) about the event, which adds to its international presence, including South American event Fespa Mexico, which this year runs from 26-28 August in Mexico City.
"In response to strong demand, Fespa Americas will provide a new pan-regional audience of printers," said Fespa Events managing director Frazer Chesterman. "We expected visitors from the US, Central and South America, who will take part in a unique educational programme and visit a world-class exhibition."
Fespa and PAF revealed their intentions at the close of the Fespa Global Summit, which was held in Miami, Florida last week (25-26 March 2010).
The event attracted 80 delegates from Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia who heard and discussed a wide-range of topics including future media trends, print's place in the media mix, marketing techniques in the digital age, integrating print with digital media using 2D barcodes and augmented reality (AR), the environment and print buyer requirements.
Delegates also took part in a SWOT analysis of the wide-format print sector, which Fespa will publish the results from as a white paper later this year.
The announcement of Fespa Americas comes hot on the heels of the news that the organisation will host its flagship exhibition, which takes place in Munich this June, at London's ExCel in June 2013. This marks the first time the event has come to the UK.
