Expert Print expands with platesetter and folder 'bargain buys'

Commercial printer Expert Print has continued its expansion plans after it purchased a Screen PlateRite 4300 S and an H&H folder.

The CTP system was purchased for £8,000, while the folder was bought for £1,100, and both pieces of kit would be used to boost the company's in-house capabilities.

Barry Pearson, managing director of the Doncaster-based business, said the kit will be used to produce leaflets, and added that he bought the two pieces of kit because they were very cheap.

He said: "I've heard that some companies are struggling to find kit to buy under £25,000, but we're just not finding this to be the case.

"We bought this CTP system and the folder on the back of two print companies closing, and they were both very cheap."

The 12-staff company has a turnover of £1.5m, and also has plans to buy a booklet maker in the near future.

In March this year, the company said it was targeting the magazine market after investing £355,000 in a new site and a secondhand Komori Lithrone 528.

In July last year, the company also invested in a Komori Spica as part of a £350,000 spend.
Expert Print is a family-run business that produces leaflets, flyers, brochures and business stationery.
