'Environmental' print procurement forum launches

A print procurement forum aimed at utilising waste paper in print runs has been launched.

Looop.co.uk, the brain child of Breeze Design creative director Nick Bond, is claimed to be an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way for designers to procure print.

Using the system, printers can advertise any spare capacity they have on jobs they are running and buyers can post adverts for jobs they are looking to be completed.

All orders are booked via PayPal before the artwork is sent over in a high-resolution PDF.

Bond said: "Designers request what they are looking to be done and printers running similar jobs can get in touch with a quote.

"The service has been well received by printers, generating new leads for printers, plus they get paid upfront. The BPIF has also got behind it."

Nick Bond, who runs Looop.co.uk has been in touch to say that this service is best described as a "forum" rather than a "brokerage". The article has been amended accordingly.
