The new machine is the 11th industrial flatbed the London-headquartered business has purchased from HP. It has joined the other HP kit and a raft of other print and finishing equipment at the company’s main production site in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire.
Installed in October, the Scitex 17000 Flex has increased the company’s digital flexibility, enabling it to offer its customers decorated box and display applications.
The machine can handle sheets up to 1.6x3.2m and 25mm thick and the flexible media loading kit enables fully automated loading of material from 115gsm up to corrugated board.
Delta Group chief operating officer Martin Shipp said: “The HP Scitex 17000 Flex was the only choice for the Delta Group, as it is the most productive and versatile machine on the market. The patented HP vacuum system handles difficult media without any drama, something our customers demand.
“HP has proven itself over the years to be a partner of growing importance to us. Our industry is constantly evolving, and with the help of HP we are able to stay on top of our ever-growing production schedules.”
The Delta Group turns over nearly £70m and has more than 600 staff.
