The Corby, Northamptonshire-based group said it made the move because of ongoing strong demand for its flexo pre-printed liner products from both UK and European markets.
CRP pre-print business manager Chris Shaw said: "As one of Europe's largest corrugated liner pre-print operations, CRP can provide the highest quality pre-print liner up to six colours, together with the best and most flexible lead times in the market.
"By consistently looking at ways to improve our service to box makers and manage their expectations, the move to fixed weekend working allows us to respond to our customers’ demands even more quickly."
The move to a seven-day shift pattern comes on-the-back of the installation of a Kongsberg XP24 digital production table last month.
The XP24, which was installed alongside CRP’s Bickers automated gluing machine in the company’s display production hall, is already operational.
Last February, CRP Print & Packaging opened its new litho printing factory. This site comprised a £3.5m KBA Rapida 162a large-format six-colour press, along with a new design studio that acts as a pre-press hub for the group, and a dedicated CTP suite complete with Kodak platesetters.
