The Buckinghamshire-based carton manufacturer upgraded its design studio in Leicester after winning new business and has built an extension to its factory in Angoulême, France. It is also developing new facilities in Long Island, in the US and Kunshan, in China, so that it can offer a global design service. All the studios will work closely together to create joined up product launches and product standardisation.
Chesapeake offers full artwork management including constructional design, graphics, 3D mock-ups, print proofing and a specialist proof-reading service.
Chesapeake artwork and constructional design manager Gill Wright said that the company differentiates itself from competitors by offering a global service based on local supply points.
She added: "We also provide practical design which is supported by experience of the manufacturing process so any solutions work hard for our customers. This knowledge allows us to recommend optimal material types that maximise shelf impact and provide reliable packaging performance in storage and distribution."
Each studio has specialist knowledge of all print finishes and effects including foil blocking, complex varnish techniques and specialist materials and processes.
