Canon lauds successful Ipex

Canon has said its high hopes for Ipex have been "more than fulfilled" after the manufacturer signed deals for more than 300 machines, while Canon UK surpassed national sales targets by 160%.

More than 100 imagePress production presses were bought on stand, while sales of its colour production engines increased by 40% compared to Ipex 2006.

Canon cited a growing demand for light colour and mono production for the 180 sales it made of its imageRunner Advance machines.

Trevor Dodsworth, head of product marketing in business to business at Canon UK, said, "Over the course of the show we exceeded our national sales target by more than 160%, contributing to the overall sales of more than 300 production and light production print systems across Canon Europe.

"There was a great atmosphere at the show and a real feeling that the industry is starting to show signs of recovery after what has been a tough year."
