The 8085, 8095 and 8105 machines offer print speeds of 85ppm, 95ppm and 105ppm respectively, with Canon targeting the latest models at CRDs and the print-for-pay markets.
Canon is pitching the machines, which can print at a maximum resolution of 1,200dpi, at printers that do not require the higher volume capabilities of its imagePress platform.
Each model features optional finishing modules that include professional punching, stapling, saddlestitching, booklet trimming and folding.
According to Trevor Dodsworth, head of product marketing at Canon Business Solutions, it was "a natural move" for the manufacturer to launch the mono machines.
"The scalability offered by the new devices is crucial to our customers, enabling them to increase their capabilities as their customer profile and work mix changes, or as digital volumes grow," he added.
Meanwhile, Canon has also introduced the imageRunner Advance 6000 series, which targets office environments. There are three models available in speeds of 55ppm, 65ppm and 75ppm.
