The company has updated a raft of options in version 9 including an advanced spooler module and developments in colour control and correction.
Caldera v9 includes the latest version of the Adobe PDF Print Engine RIP, APPE 2.5, and offers two new additions to its spooler module. The first enables operators to verfiy or resubmit job parameters by double-clicking a job to re-open it within the print window.
The company has also added a new XML exchange protocol within its LiveSpooler that allows users to monitor offline printroom devices.
Caldera has also outlined a number of developments in colour control and correction. Last-minute changes can be made to luminosity, contrast and colour balances within the main print window without needing to switch modules.
Caldera v9 also generates colour books of swatches on-demand, which provides a PDF file of reference colours, giving the operator the ability to match spot colours.
According to Caldera, APPE 2.5 integration allows for better support for memory management and font support as sell as the ability to replace spot colours when in RGB mode.
APPE users can benefit from 20% faster RIP speeds and the ability to preview complex documents with transparency or overprint information.
Sebastien Hanssens, vice president of marketing at Caldera, said version 9 offers "the most comprehensive, feature-heavy option on the print software market today".
He added: "This ranges from advanced colour control options, to productivity-orientated measures, like the creation of re-configurable, automatic print gutters to avoid density variations and nozzle clogging and, therefore, the expense of head strikes."
Caldera version 9 is available now. Pricing was unavailable at the time of writing.
