HarperCollins' William and Kate hit book stores just 10 days after Prince William and Kate Middleton held a surprise press conference to announce the news.
Managing director Kevin Sarney said the £15m-turnover Somerset printer was tasked with printing 100,000 copies of the book for both the domestic and export markets and described the project as "a great effort by all involved".
"It comes at our peak period - our factory was already nearly at capacity - so it really was a great achievement by HarperCollins and everyone here," he said.
Sarney said that the publisher was discussing the possibility of producing the book within 24 hours of the announcement.
"Fortunately we hold standard stocks in the run up to Christmas. Harper Collins also created space and capacity with us to make this happen by delaying some of their reprints, so we didn't have to let anyone else down," he said.
Butler Tanner and Dennis is one of the UK's largest colour book printers, and Sarney said it was well-placed to take advantage of the growing trend towards fast-turnaround book publishing.
The company is already gearing up to produce a book on the winner of the X-Factor, reportedly within five days of the final. Following that, there's the Ashes, and then the royal wedding, said Sarney.
"Events cycles are very interesting," he said. "There's such a small window to get this to market. The reaction time is becoming less and less. You have to maximise the opportunities to sell and get [these books] out to the shops. Fortunately we've got the firepower to get these through quite quickly."
Harper Collins teamed up with The Sun - both are owned by Murdoch's News Corp - to produce William and Kate. Anna Valentine, senior commissioning editor, Harper Collins, told the BBC fast-turnaround publishing will make this kind of partnership more common.
"If publishers are to remain relevant, we have to look to the magazine and newspaper industry and deliver our content to our consumers when they want it," she said.
