British Book Design and Production Awards shortlist unveiled

The BPIF, along with Oxford Brookes University and the Publishers Association, have unveiled the shortlist for the British Book Design and Production Awards 2009.

The industry body hailed the record number of applicants this year – 450 compared to 380 in 2008 and just 280 in 2007.

Winners of the 15 categories will be unveiled on Thursday 29 October at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Ones to watch out for in the print categories include Hurtwood Press, which has been shortlisted for three books in the Digitally Printed Books category, plus Butler Tanner and Dennis, Empress Litho and Falcon Press, who are all nominated in the Best British Book category.
