The Rotherham-based company produces medium- to large-format point-of-sale and point-of-purchase material for retailers, manufacturers and financial institutions.
Managing director Bryan Shirley said the company has worked towards the standard for a number of reasons.
"We already had a strong environmental ethic within the business and it seemed like the logical thing to gain recognition for what we were already doing," he explained.
"We were also aware that there were a number of business opportunities 'going begging' because we weren't accredited and we'd like a slice of that business."
He added that although environmental certification was not yet a pre-requisite for suppliers to most of the company's clients, in the future he believed it would be.
The 40-staff business has achieved significant cost savings since gaining the accreditation, specifically through waste reduction.
"One example is we've achieved a 41% reduction in waste collection costs, so the financial case is a no brainer," Shirley said.
In the past two years, Bluetree has invested £2.5m in plant and facilities.
Shirley added: "We will remain open minded and ready to invest further in digital equipment should the right opportunities and conditions arise."
