The colour label printer produces full colour labels on-demand at 1,600 x 800dpi at a speed of 300mm per second. It can handle widths of between 50mm to 222mm and substrates of 0.13mm to 0.33mm thick.
The Speedstar uses a single fixed Memjet printhead to apply ink to the substrates, which are moved separately, saving replenishment and cleaning costs.
AMS marketing manager Victoria Christen said: "It was a natural progression for us to add the Speedstar 3000 to our range as packaging is a big part of the mailing industry.
"Our customers were showing a demand for these type of products and our technical team has the knowledge and expertise to sell them."
Christen hinted that AMS would be looking into adding further packaging equipment to its distribution list by the end of this year.
