The theme of the conference, "Romancing Print," reflects the key concerns facing graphic arts service providers in an increasingly competitive world. Manoj Mehta, president of the AIFMP stated: "This will be the first major industry event in New Delhi."
The AIFMP has identified a team of key speakers from Xerox, Heidelberg and TechNova. The keynote address is by Nandan Nilekani, the iconic Indian IT-man who is the chairperson of the Government's flagship project: Unique Identification Authority of India.
The conference will consist of a series of sessions that shall feature presentations on key topics, including digital technology, UV printing, CTP systems, balance sheets and financial management, green themes and much more.
The highlight of the seminar will be a session called Romancing the "3 Idiots" in which Pranav Parikh, chairman and managing director of TechNova will interact with the owner, manager and operator of three print firms. At the end of this session, the audience will vote for the most innovative print firm of the three.
This is the first time the AIFMP is conducting such an event, to coincide with Printer's Day celebrations which is celebrated on 24 February in honour of Johannes Gutenberg. Manoj Mehta is keen to host a series of print conferences in key print cities in India.
Mehta stated: "With a focus on the Indian print industry, Romancing Print will provide a great first-hand opportunity to get the latest information about the offerings available in today’s rapidly evolving market. Attendees will be able to understand on how to overcome obstacles."
Mehta added: "The Indian print economy is rebounding. As companies begin planning future investments, events such as Romancing Print are a critical enabler to ensure a clear understanding of the options that are available to not only open the doors for offering new customer services, but to be able to do so as efficiently—and profitably—as possible. This is a "don’t miss" event that will provide a strong basis for planning the second half of 2011 and beyond."
