The business, formerly EFI’s Productivity Software wing, became a standalone venture when it was sold to private equity firm Symphony Technology Group in a deal that was announced last week.

EFI acquired Olin’s Printcafé MIS business back in 2003, which became the foundation for its Productivity Software division. Olin went on to work at EFI for nearly 18 years and held the roles of COO and CFO during his time at the group.

eProductivity Software revealed that Olin would be joining the business, and has now announced that he has become executive chairman of the fresh venture, working alongside CEO Gaby Matsliach.

Olin said that when he heard about Symphony’s plans for the business, he became “increasingly interested in joining what I know will be a successful future”.

“With the increased focus on driving global organic and inorganic growth and with Gaby and the productivity software management team committed to lead the business forward, I knew that this would be a great opportunity to help them realise their vision,” he said. 

Olin said he was “excited to be coming back to where I spent most of my career – transformational software technology for the printing and packaging industries”.

Symphony Technology Group managing partner William Chisholm said that it planned to leverage Symphony’s experience as investors in enterprise software to further expand eProductivity Software’s value proposition to its customers “and further accelerate its growth trajectory”.

Olin, Matsliach and the eProductivity management team will take part in the EFI Connect user conference taking place next week.
