The group announced today (12 September) that Grant Murray had taken over from Neil Johnson following a handover period.
Johnson had been CFO for just over a year.
Murray took up his new role in August.
He holds an MBA and was most recently spent seven years as group CFO at advertising agency Talon Outdoor.
Prior to that his career includes senior finance and CFO level roles at media group UBM, Channel 5, newspaper business Johnston Press and at Clarion Events. He was also interim group CFO at Guardian Media Group for a year and has worked as a consultant and non-executive director.
As part of the group’s finance function reorganisation Ian Southerland, who joined Walstead in July as group finance director, has been appointed to the boards of Walstead Holdings and Walstead Group.
Commenting on the appointments, chairman Mark Scanlon said: “We welcome Grant to the group and congratulate Ian on his well-deserved promotion to the two boards.
“We would like to thank Neil for his contribution to the group since he joined us last year and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Murray said: “I am delighted to be joining the Walstead team and I am looking forward to supporting the further development of the group’s businesses across Europe.”
The latest moves follows a number of senior management changes, including the surprise resignation of Walstead EU boss José Maria Camacho.
In its most recent accounts, for calendar year 2022, Walstead Group had sales of just under €648.9m (£557m). The business lays claim to being the biggest independent commercial web printer in Europe. It also has a gravure operation in Spain.
Walstead is scheduled to file its 2023 results by the end of this month.
