The new plant is located in Sittard, in the Netherlands, close to the border with Germany. 

Landa Digital Printing currently has at least eight presses installed in Europe with most of them at continental customers including a brace of installations in the Netherlands and in Germany. 

The UK has two installations at Bluetree Group and Essentra Packaging, and there is one press in Ireland at McGowans. 

Landa Digital Printing said that new site, which is already open, would double consumables production and “dramatically shorten” lead times. 

CEO Gil Oron said the expansion demonstrated the Israel-headquartered firm’s long-term commitment to the European market. 

“Our new Sittard site is geared towards sustainability, service reliability and business growth. It provides Landa customers with local supply, which in times of very challenging worldwide logistics and parts supplies, offers considerable reassurance,” he said. 

“What’s more, with customer production volumes increasing daily, this also ensures prompt and reliable delivery too – crucial in increasing efficiency.” 

Landa’s Nanographic printing process involves an ultra-thin film of NanoInk, which is jetted onto a heated transfer belt before being transferred to the substrate. 

The investment involved and production capacity at the new plant were not disclosed. 

When the Landa presses were first announced, a decade ago at Drupa 2012, a family of products was envisaged including B3, B2 and web-fed models. The business subsequently focused its efforts on B1 format straight printing and perfecting models.

The 1m-wide, 100m/min W10 web press for flexible packaging does not currently feature on the product list on Landa's website.
