The manufacturer said the release of the TASKalfa Pro 15000c, an inkjet colour printer with a 600x600dpi resolution that can reach speeds up to 150ppm A4, marks “the next step” in its diversification.
Designed for the production of up to one million A4 prints per month, the device offers a warm-up time of less than 120 seconds and a time to first print of 5.5 seconds or less. Its modular design allows for different scales, with storage for up to 14,310 sheets.
The printer uses water-based pigment ink, which Kyocera said is environmentally friendly in both manufacturing and disposal.
Kyocera Document Solutions UK head of product marketing Michele Mabilia said: “The TASKalfa Pro 15000c is the result of our decades of experience into the production print sector.
“We have an established pedigree in the manufacture of inkjet print technology with our printheads already being utilised across a number of direct-to-garment (DTG) and existing production print platforms.
“Our trusted partners and customers value our partnership and quality of our technology and have been highlighting to us the need to expand our portfolio and provide them with comprehensive print production solutions. As a result, Kyocera developed our first print production machine to be able to meet our partners and customers demands.
“Moreover, we have seen a significant trend in bringing back in-house print services which have been recently outsourced and, thanks to Kyocera’s new production solutions, we can help our customers in exactly achieving that. Customers have been asking for a cost competitive device that can handle significantly high print volumes without compromising on quality.”
He added the machine is suitable for a wide range of production print environments including central reprographic departments and transactional/transpromotional applications where a combination of images and variable data is needed.
The TASKalfa Pro 15000c can support paper sizes ranging from A6 to SRA3 and stock weights from 56 to 360gsm and is said to offer low and easy maintenance, high efficiency and low energy consumption.
“Companies are growing increasingly conscious of the need to improve security by internalising print services, particularly in sectors such as banking, healthcare, utilities and public services,” said Mabilia.
“They have also recognised the opportunity to add value through personalisation that is unique to this type of product. This made it clear to us at Kyocera that the time was right to bring our experience into a new domain with a specific product ready to lead the market.”
The TASKalfa Pro 15000c was launched to the market yesterday (4 November) and stocks will be available from December.
Kyocera said the device will be available via “a selected number of partners we know can provide the highest levels of service and deliver the very best customer experience”.
The manufacturer described pricing for the printer as “very competitive”, and said it aims to provide its customers “with the lowest running costs in this market segment”.
